Hello Everyone

I am regularly following posts here. A special thanks to all helpies to come up with solutions and sharing your experience. I found some good services and people here.

I have a question regarding Dropshipping. I created a .co.uk Website around 2 years back and did SEO on it. I know that website is not that great, But still i am not getting any sales from it. Today somebody told me that in England, Govt. charge people while receiving orders from China or other countries. Is it true? If yes, then is it advisable to do Dropshipping in England?

I was doing it through AliExpress.

Please suggest.

Thanks

I have few orders from aliexpress and nobody ask me nothing

Why they should care if you don't buy illegal things ?

There are import taxes. But in the UK aliexpress isn't used much as it has a bad reputation here for fakes and poor quality, also it takes too long to receive orders. Businesses need to do delivery within a couple of days

Oh yeah fuck me. Delivery times it's at least a month

Once I forget about a order,seriously.

I do not try epacket, you can try maybe it's quicker but I doubt since all are processed via royal mail and they don't care about them.

So will be 14 days as epacket says + at least 5 working days on Royal mail.

What does it matter your not getting any sales anyway?

I was planning to put more efforts on Store and add more products. But if there are import tax, i don't think people will buy. That's why i was wondering whether i should work on it or leave it.

Problem is not shipping. My question is regarding Import Tax. Does the End user has to pay that? If yes, how much it will be?

Right, but if i will sell products through my Store, nobody will know that it is aliexpress or Me. I just need to know how much is import tax? Also, every body who get products from overseas has to pay that?

Its quite complicated to work it out in the UK and I am sure other countries have similar import taxes etc. Roughly if its from outside the EU and up to a value of £15 there is nothing to pay. If its sent as a gift it can be up to £39 and nothing to pay. If its not a gift and over £15 of value then the receiver has to pay £3.00 vat (20%) to get it. If the price is over £135 and above then the person receiving has to pay the 20% VAT plus 2.5% import tax. Thats the simple explanation. It is more complicated though.

Thanks for clarification. It means i should try to sell products which are below £15. So there will not be any type of tax issues.

shipping times is a problem for that, it can take a long time while amazon and other UK companies offer next day delivery or within a couple of days not weeks. You'll need to stay on top of the delivery times.

So the general consensus is fuck dropshipping if you're from the UK?

It looks like there is no benefit of doing Dropshipping in UK. Or another thing can be, Manufacturer can put cost lower on the packet, so everybody will be safe.

There is but you can't expect people to wait too long, everyone uses the Amazon app or Alexa, but it can be done

i used to dropship from united states to UK. Shipping times were faster there than they were, to here in the U.S.
I was dropshipping the Tattoo/ mole Removal Pen Tool. CPM's are quite low in the UK as well, for pretty much everything. Also dropshipped an "as seen on tv style instant wrinkle removal iron" to the UK. worked out pretty well actually:)
