I've seen some sales-page putting the banners saying: "As featured on... "
then there will be some MSNBC logos, MSN logos, and such.

Is it even allowed? Wouldn't that be false advertising? Ain't that illegal?

Ok, I think I get it now.

It isn't false advertising.. more like "smart advertising".

In the fine print you can mention that, the logos belong to respective companies and you have no affiliation with them. You place "as seen on google or yahoo" because your site appears in their SERPS etc.

But I have seen people using this on new sites that is not even indexed by google or yahoo. That is definitely false advertising.

But as a blackhat, do you really care? It is up to you.
