Is it duplicate content dangerous in a e-commerce?

ey everyone! I have a question about an e-commerce, because i read about content duplicate in e-shops is dangerous, because you have the same Title of you competitors (except the last word because appear the name of the web), and the description is exactly the same that your suppliers!.

Change every product is a madness! I am using excel anyway but i dont have any idea about how to "change" every description, or unless that the content dont be consider duplicate by google.

So that is myt question... How i can avoid the penalities (if exist)?
