Is it appropriate to say satan in a class presentation?

Depends on where you come from, what the general consensus of satanism appears to be and how good you are at turning the crowd back around if/when they get offended.
If they generally have a good sense of humour I can't see a problem.
 
Do what I do. Whenever you need to say the word "Satan", say "Santa" instead. It works well for me when I'm dealing with clients.

Asked it at the lounge. You do not need a law degree to answer a simple question so it doesn't matter where I ask it.
 
I had a girl do this exact thing, first day of class -- 11th grade phys/anatomy.

first girl goes up:

"My name is (don't remember), my interests are going to youth group with my friends.... blah blah"

Kelsey, my nigga, goes up:

"Hi, my name is Kelsey and I worship Satan." & sits down.

I didn't know her at this point, but I quickly made an effort to. She pulled it off because she was hot as hell and never gave a fuck. She's now an award winning burlesque dancer. You can be a burlesque dancer too.

To this day, Kelsey still doesn't give a fuck.

And when people think I will talk about "environmental wellness", I will throw them off by saying
"I like to gather around with friends in a circle and chant for satan" then switch to actually talking about environmental wellness.

It screams "desperate for attention - material sucks". Is that the type of impression you want to give?

Context, context, context. "Do the gas emissions from Hell 's chambers increase the planet 's temperature? -> Please keep our planet cool by being good persons." That kind of stuff.
