Hello,

Is it an unsafe practice to write and link all the possible keywords (20-60 of those) on each forum profile backlink?

My website was ranking on second page for a keyword, now it is nowhere and Google even changed the title for it.

Should I only write one keyword per forum profile?

Thank you!

One common mistake in SEO practices is trying to focus too broadly thinking that its kind of a "free promotion strategy", so, "the more the better"?.

As you would not create an ad focusing just everyone or every single keyword, you should not do this with SEO.

Focus on one, two or 3 keywords at maximum. Ideally I would choose keywords that are completely unrelated in multiple senses (for example, one with big CTR potential, one informational, and one a money keyword), that focus on different aspects of your site. Treat them separatedly, for example, work on each keyword for one day exclusive.

And then follow the results for a couple of months. Do other types of promotions meanwhile. Don't overdo on SEO, keep it lean.

Problem with SEO is that generally it takes a lot of time to see results and its difficult to measure gains based on what you are currently doing. So most people initiating in SEO try to broaden their reach targeting a ton of keywords thinking that "if one keyword doesnt work the other might do". This only happens with long tails and through massive amounts of content production once you have reached enough reputation. I cannot stress how important is reputation and authority. This is the difference between being targed as "small site" for the google algo, and the next level. To raise your level you can do whatever shanenigan you like (for example, you can blast tiers or whatever), but never obsess over detail. Keep it simple, simple keywords, simple anchors, simple links, simple text.

Since May 2024 leak I cannot see SEO the same way as before, and I'm very critical against "classic advice".

Yeah, dumping 20–60 keywords into every profile link looks spammy and can trigger penalties. It’s better to keep it natural with just one or two relevant anchor texts and vary them across different profiles. Mixing in branded or generic anchors will also help your site look more organic to Google.

It depends on your marketing strategy. Some people prefer brand name as a keyword, while others use money keywords. If your site is not showing up for your brand name, never promote it for money keywords and always use brand name. If it's ranking for brand name, then you can diversify your keywords.

You should also never overdo keyword anchors. So, it's better to keep brand name for 60-80% links and then play within that narrow zone to avoid radar.

Yes, writing and linking all possible keywords on every forum
profile backlink is an unsafe and ineffective practice that
can trigger spam signals and negatively impact your site's
trustworthiness and rankings.
