Do you guys think making money on the internet is more of a mindset?
Or is it just following a set of logical steps.
What helped you guys to be the most productive.
How did you find out what you where good at.
    Is passion Involved?
BTW I'm asking because I've been thoroughly researching for about 4 months but I've only lost money.
I get depressed often. Trying to figure out if I should fix my personal issues before I spend time trying to make money on the internet.

Not really but when you sit on the computer and you are working, ye you need to be in a good mindset (doesent have to be really strict, i usually work for 1h and than make a quick pause to check my fb and things like that and i get back in to it. I even sometimes chat and work in the same time)

Or is it just following a set of logical steps.

Logic is everything to me so it is a combination from both!

What helped you guys to be the most productive?

For me nothing special, i guess music and focus...

How did you find out what you where good at?

By trying many different things (trial and error)

    Is passion Involved?

If you decide to do something that you love (like having a blog about something that you are interested in) than yes, if not than the success it he passion.

If you work for money only thing you will ever get is some money.

If you work for passion and dream you will fulfill your dream and you will be happy and you will create mindset about that idea and that niche and you will find some way to profit in that niche.

Later on you can use that money to invest in some other ideas.

    1. You will become happy

    2. You will not work for your money

    3. You will be rich men by definition

Personally, for me, being in the right mindset gets me on track to planning logical steps in projects. Then, when I'm not in the right mindset, I can just follow the list of steps, and that will usually set me straight and snap me out of it. I do think having a logical plan of steps is required if you want to stay sane during a larger project. I get the most bummed out when I'm in between projects and don't have a game plan (I'm just relaxing, without anything in the burner).

I started being the most productive when I realized that nothing is just going to happen out of thin air. I realized I had to create and build an infrastructure from nothing if I want to be at my goals. I had let myself slip and nothing was going to pull me out of the hole but myself.

I think passion is involved, but maybe not passion for the work, rather the end results. Like, I don't necessarily enjoy building websites, but having a supercar + not having to worry about money (after growing up w/ worries) is the "passion" for me. A big realization was that I didn't really want anything but that (supercar + no worries) - once I had an end goal and I stopped kidding myself, working towards the goal became much more motivating and fun, almost like a game.

BTW, I am in no means a baller, but I'm doing OK from IM. I started completely new (no marketing or internet expertise), and 4 Hour Workweek / Think and Grow Rich were massively helpful books to me, even if I didn't fully utilize them until years after I had read them. Another thing I would say is that once you make your first sale/conversion, you're likely going to get a huge spike of motivation. Good luck!

The key is to think long term, believe in your plans and projects. Don't worry if you're not making yet the next day or the next week. Keep your mind on the big picture and you'll get there. The moment you get too hung up on your immediete finance is the moment you slip out of that rich abundant mindset.

Thats why its best to have some savings or a another source of income before you commit fully to internet marketing.

Yes, I think it is mostly about mindset. Only a small percentage of people will put themselves through the dire situations you find yourself in when trying to start out in IM and not give up.

Mindset and work ethics are the name of the game. But intelligence, creativity and useful skills and abilities are also quite helpful, but the first two are the decisive factor in the long run (at least that's what I've come to believe seeing successes and failures).

( If you still need the advice as I see this thread is a few months old )

So most guys have already chimed in with some really great advice.

Yes it is about the MINDSET!

Change your mind and you change your reality.

I have been at this for about 4 months as well - . ( I will admit I have been pretty techie though before hand.. not so much with IM but I was very successful in sales and I also used to work as a computer repair tech and I did in field work that involved everything from helping grandma get to her email to setting up a massive network for a business and even home theater installation - not really related but the company did all that. I've got a lot of talents and things I bring to the table though.. not sure where you sit .. for example I had a great amateur bodybuilding career as well as I played professionally in MLG 2008 in Halo 3. ( was also pro for H1 but that was in the baby days when not much money was involved. I played professional tournaments for In the Groove 2. I worked my way up to be a General Store Manager for a supplement company at the age of 21 in 4 months as part time guy. I CONSTENTLY read about self improvment and I have been extremely interested in robotics so I follow everything to with it.... theres a lot more .. )

as you can I have a been there done that kind of thing going on.. My biggest thing I'm working on is trying to stay focused on ONE thing. Like I do so much and I put my all into it. ... and I'm also trying to become a heavyweight boxing champ at the same time too... I know.. two things that require major time commitment

I have a WINNERS mindset. Like I got into SEO 4 months ago and was lurking on here then made an account and now I'm RELENTLESSLY aiming to be the best in SEO .. even maybe.. A GOD OF SEO.. lol

See I have a VERY competitive mindset and I will not be beat at the things I do.

I beleive you HAVE to have a great mindset..

    OP .... OP....

THAT is NOT the mindset of a WINNER !

With words like that I would NOT bet any of my money on you being successful.

My answer YES you NEED to have the mindset. Also I feel you should be competitive and have some passion for it as well.

I'm probably the laziest person when it comes to anything so that's what probably attracted me to I.M in the first place. The idea of just sitting in front of the computer and watching the money flow in like a purified stream of water on a humid day.

Well that's just an idea, I.M is work like anything else and sometimes you just gotta sit your ass down and put in the required hours to reach your goal. I don't enjoy building sites, pbn's etc. and sometimes I don't even work for days at a time but once you get that first check it's like a heroin addiction you want to keep doing to live the life we imagine.

Anything you do in life, it is definitely easier to accomplish things with a positive mindset & a never quit attitude. I usually get depressed when in the SEO stage of things because at that point it's just a impatient waiting game but with the never quit attitude it's not hard to keep on going..

simple advice: JUST DO IT, like nike ;-)
