Is it a good idea to structure a webshop like this...

Hello!

I am planning to start a webshop soon and am planning the following structure.

Main domain e.g: www.shopname.com under the main domain I'd like to create individual shop pages focussed specifically on one product.

www.shopname.com/cbdshop
www.shopname.com/vitamineshop
www.shopname.com/proteinpowdershop

*Note the above is just a example.

I think it could be good to really specialise the individual shop pages with different styling but still relating to the main brand, easy navigation for the customer and specific blogcontent for these shoppages. What concerns me is how Google will see such a domain for example if it doesn't like CBD will the other shoppages also be impacted likewise for ads.

That's the structure I recognize normally; I've never seen someone call their URL structure with a "shop" postfix.

I think it it is ok as long as you do internal linking and other stuff properly. You use wordpress? Since in wordpress I think building this permalink is a bit difficult.

Sorry maybe my message was a bit unclear, I mean that the goal is to make individual shop pages under the main domain with different navs, styling etc. I'm just wondering if this could work or it might be not a good way to go about it. Especially, with sensitive categories like CBD for example.

Yes, since we want to start lean with only one shop first I think we will be using WordPress - would you recommend Shopify instead?

URLs are somehow unrecognizable, I think you should at leas use - between words so it's more readable

Never used Shopify tbh. Permalinks has not so much effect, unless its a multi niche site with many categories.

I dunno, I would do a study of similar sites your going after, and see how well they are going using the same products as you. There is bound to be 10 sites (and even more?) already that are doing what you want to do. Ranging from poor/medium to very good.

I try and follow the lead of other sites, but mostly I'm spending my time on youtube for a few months. Still the principle applies. I made a study of the best in my niche, and study them a bit everyday, monitoring their progress, and trying to make my content, different in a unique way, but still keep the elements that make up the successful channels the same. I know your working on sites, but the approach is the same, and how I still approach my site building too.

Learn from the existing best. Don't try to walk out there in the wilderness with different custom plans, as it's easy to get nowhere too, doing that.

Defo go with a good compatible theme and woo, if you want to keep your costs down. Shopify costs you quite a bit of money and can add up when you add plugins, whereas you probably know you won't have such commitments up front with WordPress. Although, if you ARE sure that your business will work, and you are confident you can spend and earn, then maybe Shopify, as you don't need to worry about traffic and spam attacks since they take care of everything obviously.

Splitting up your shop into different pages on the main site can be cool for customers, but watch out for SEO and ad problems if one of your products is controversial.
