Hi,
Many of you may know me from my thread about making my own instagram bot. Anyways a memeber from bhw has offered me $700 if I make the bot using the private API and can finish within 2 months. He wants exclusive rights to the code so that he can resell and he doesn't want me selling the code! Do you think it's a good deal selling for?$700 with full resell rights.

For payment he said he'll pay half by bitcoin after I send him a video of the code + rar file with password. He will then pay the other half and I will send password

I think that reduces and chances of him being a scammer. Anyways what do you guys think. Or do you think that's it's worth more (granted I get it to work and finish within 2 months)

Your coding skills are really really low...$700 for 2 months it's...you decide if it worth or not :)
In comparation, I'm asking for $40/hour :)
My advice is to not take this project, better take some coding lessons and then u can make $700 on a few days.

Hmm..I will suggest that you use freelancing site like upwork. Bitcoin exchange rate can be expensive.
For $700 I will sell the code. As instagram is constantly updating so put in a clause that to provide support service and update, the charges would be $700 flat for example.

Basically you are making more money on the backend and if this client can sell the software, he won't mind paying you to update the software. I am very certain there will be frequent update required.

Such bots only make money for short term, look around at the BST and you can see the amount of time updates need to be roll out due to changes by instagram.

hahaha my god.. one of bhwer is selling my program here, didn't ask even permission.. i ll do what i should do for it.anyway.. i'm calm!
Well, for you OP, actually it depends on api and bots features..

That seems like a lot of work for $700. How many hours will you have into it? I wouldn't charge less than $100/hr for anything, because if you're skilled enough to write bots, you're skilled enough to make $100/hr.

Case study with Android. By giving away the system for free, they make back the money with support.
Case study with Microsoft. They like to give away their OS for schools. Why? So that young users get used to their interface and will grow up too lazy to switch OS.

If a bot requires constant update and support, a back end charging model would put you in a good position. Trying too hard to be too expensive in the front end would actually kill the goose that lays the golden egg.

@Darkpixei sacrificing short term profit for long term gain could be a worthwhile venture. Bearing in mind that this bot at the moment generate zero income for OP since it is still under development.

$700 with full resell rights? No freaking way.
