Is it a good idea to do domain name forwarding with masking?

Is it a good idea to do domain name 301 forwarding with masking for Adwords? Has anyone done it and not got banned?

The landing page matches the URL shown on ad copies so I'm guessing it's ok?

If you just 301 redirect, i.e. cloaking, but you wont filter adwords bots IP ranges & manual reviewers, your adwords account will be suspended in like 5 minutes. To do this successfully and not getting banned, you need an updated professional cloaker.

Alternatively you could extend the conversion funnel and get people to click on the landing page to go to the page you really want them on. I know that isn't ideal but I doubt you will get the redirect to work for very long.

So you are saying you will land the users on the same page you specified in the ad copy as display url. Is that right ?

if yes then what's the point of the whole stuff ? As long as the landing page domain matches the display url you are good to go. They don't care about the destination URL.

There are issues with domain main forwarding. One would be you lose google juice, i.e, search ranking. Let's say your page is:

wwwabc123dothwhatever

but you forward from that to

unwiedlyurldothwhatever

Google search results refuses to have both unwiedlyurl and abc123 show up in a google search because it doesn't want to repeat two of the same pages, so it will randomly choose one, and only the google juice pointing towards that one url will count toward search ranking. God help you if it chooses the unwiedlyurl. Which means anyone who links to abc123 will not help your rankings.
