I purchased a .cc domain to run sort of an off shot website of my money site. My money site is often abbreviated as CC, so I bought a topic specific domain name and called it (videos).cc. I think that my members will understand what i did, but i am wondering if it will be hard to rank organically.

It really is not bad at all. If you are worried about something, just get another domain, and redirect the '.cc' to it. It will show up in Google with adequate content.

with unique content and SEO it can be ranked, but of course not easy like .com !

there is a slight discrimination for .cc but it wont be a problem if you have a clear path on how to redirect

.co domain are good extensions too but people seem to shy away from them. More for me!

I've seen many .cc or .co ranked in my local but high competitive terms. I believe content & backlinks are considered far more important than just your domain extension.

Me personally, I wont buy anything other than .com. Worst case I will do: .org or .net

The other extensions look kind of shady to our customers....in my humble opinion

Search for something in your niche and see how many .cc's come up. In most the niches I monitor no .CC comes up top 10.
