Being new to SEO, I have had a hard time so far with manual link building. Yeah, I can get a few blog comments approved with a link dropped in. But generally a page with comments hasno PR. How do I go about finding higher PR (1+) blog posts and pages. It seems most sites have high pr home pages or even blog posts, but the comment pages are very low pr. And they aught to be. Who links to a comment?

Get Scrapebox and search the forums for some days to learn about its full potential.

You will then be able to find dozens of pr1+ niche related pages to comment on and some of them will even auto approve your comment without a problem.

If you don't have money for Scrapebox, go and mown the lawn until you have the bucks for it. Finding pages to comment on without sb is just a waste of time imo.

There's a free tool called "the free blog commenter", it allows you to harvest relevant blogs and filters the PR. Try using the search button to see if you can find it.

Hope this helps.

Of course you assume OP lives in the lower States, up North it's shoveling snow! Pays even better! :D

If linkbuiliding isn't your thing, and really who's is it? Then why not outsource it?

At the end of the day its cost effective and you can focus on your product, service, website or whatever...

That's my advice, especially if you are pulling teeth at this point in the game.

You should target on same niche, Do Follow blogs. Besides it also check that commented page is cache or not. Cache is more important than PR of that commented page.
