is Internal dupe content really that bad?

I have a site that lists lets just say "widgets" there are "blue widgets","red widgets" and so on.

on each of these pages i have something like this : "to download these red widgets you need to click the download link these red widgets are awesome you will never find a better red widget anywhere in the world apart from this site" and so on... about 300-400 words to keep red widget density down.

I have copied and pasted this text and edited the "red widgets" to whatever widget the page is about to 16 other pages on my site.

I have used a tool to check internal dupe content and it says they are 95%.

Do i now have to write or employ someone to write 16 x 300-400 word articles all differant to each page? i'm guessing the anwser is yes but, would like some advice from you guys first.

Duplicate content should not be within your own domain. But what you're talking about is just 1-2 sentences that are the same and not the actual whole articles themselves, so that's better.

I would just go through the site and change the text of those 2 sentences to make them unique.

well there are no articles as such on the pages they are just a gallery of images and the few sentences at the top and bottom which are the same apart from the keywords.

Like I said. Just alter the text to make it unique.

It shouldn't be that hard since it is only a few sentences.

you should be aiming for 0% on your own domain.
