Is Instagram removing followers?

My account had 89k followers a week ago, today it’s 88.7k. I have no problem with losing followers but the weird thing is that when I post (super engaging posts + caption) I’m getting 50-100 followers but my follower count never goes up, just down.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Instagram purges low quality followers all the time. It's normal for larger accounts to see some fluctuation depending on how your account was grown
