Is Instagram becoming like Facebook ?

I've also noticed that when switching to a business account, they definitely limit your organic reach to encourage you to pay for ads. Depending on your goals, it's sometimes better to not switch to a business account.

At 120k followers, I switched one of my accounts to a business account and it hasn't grown at all in the last 6-8 months. Considering that I grew this account naturally/organically to over 100k followers in less than a year, there's no other reason than it being the switch to a business account!

Instagram is dying switch to tiktok it has high reach and high engagement

I think eventually all social platforms get saturated with ads and engagement drops because people want to see original content not ads and platforms want to get those ad dollars even now on fb every fifth post is an ad.
On IG every 4th post is an ad. With time it will get even more saturated. :/

This drives me crazy, about 4 months ago when i used to have only 10k Followers, i was getting about 600-700 likes per Post plus 60-70 comments, since then im running daily Instagram Ads in my Niche ( Medicine ) and my account grew to have now about 35k Followers, but guess what , the amount of likes and comments im getting per Post these days is decreasing! ( Yesterday's post got only 400 Likes for example and in average im getting only 600-700 likes per Post ! ) My Engagement rate dropped to 2.5% only.

Im not doing anything illegal to get shadow banned, not doing any follow-unfollow methods or blackhat methods, im just running Instagram Ads and getting real followers all the time ( Unless Instagram tricks its client, which is unlikely ) , and it's not like the quality of the posts has decreased, im posting only 2-3 times a week and investing a lot in these posts by giving medical infos etc.

Can anyone tell me what's going on ? is Instagram decreasing the amount of reach per post and becoming like Facebook ? Any Suggestion or idea what might be the problem ? Thank you!
Instagram saturation is the primary culprit behind all of this. The user base and posting frequency have increased. With users following more accounts than before, they are seeing more content in their feeds. And quite frankly, it's just too much content to keep up with.more likely coz of corona more and maor people using instagram

1. When you switch your personal account into a business, you will gradually reduce your reach because IG always wants you to use advertising
2. The number of followers increases is not proportional to the number of participants, do not misunderstand this, you increase the number of followers does not mean your likes will increase.
3. Imagine standing in the stands and speaking to 100 people, maybe 50-60 people hear you speak but when you speak for 1000 people, are you sure 500-600 people will hear it?

not necessarily going the way of facebook, but it is way too saturated now

After the Cambridge Analytica scandall Facebook lost multiple streams of revenue....they did two things to force people to buy ads inside the platform:

1- Organic reach dropped a lot...some people say that the average is 28% less reach

2- They block most automation tools so small business had to learn about paid traffic and start promoting their posts.

This will eventually happen with all social media channels. Tiktok is in the beginning and it seems to be a blue ocean

Moving all my clients to tiktok!

Cheers!

Instagram's algorithm favors "topicality" by determining which publications will be seen in the user feed and is designed to provide new content with which users are likely to interact.

I believe using ads to grow your account is part of the reason why your engagements and likes remain the same. The new followers you recieved might not be the type that regularly interact with people they follow

Im really not that surprised this is going on. It is all about money after all and making you pay for reach and/or engagement

There are obviously a lot of things coming into play here.

but what’s really happening is Facebook mention a year or two ago that they felt like users weren’t getting on as much because they felt disconnected from friends and family. So decided to show less pages so friends and family could feel more connected. This also forced businesses to start buying ads which increased their bottom line - revenue. When they bought Instagram they started enforcing the same strategy so they can raise their stock prices.

The problem is Facebook was built on a friends and family platform. Instagram grew more into an interest based platform. So they are trying to turn Instagram into something that it’s not.

Facebook would really benefit more from buying different platforms and not molesting them. So they could have different algorithms in different markets. They are really shooting themselves in the foot. A lot of businesses were able to start from Instagram and Facebook free exposure, but they weren’t able to grow big enough to really switch over to ads. They would be better off using an exposure cap at like 50K forcing you to use ads. They could also offer different business suites and packages to help with exposure.

But now people are just jumping ship to TikTok. My recommendation would be to create a brand to you can use across multiple platforms and carry with you the rest of your life. It’s a branding game now and not just about followers.
