I am planning to run a few download sites, nothing to do with cpa and stuff. just normal sites, will .info do, i do not want to spend on .com because the sites are just for linking download links from file hosts.

You should be fine if your redirecting people to these sites. From my experience, Ranking is very difficult.

If you're redirecting it should be fine. If the .com are only slightly more expensive, go for them
