Is IM getting harder nowadays?

Definitely the market is getting more saturated, but that is all that we could expect. Everything in this world is becoming more digital and more accessible.
Slowly more people roll in and try to venture the market. But ultimately this is happening in many other areas as well, whether it's retail, hospitality or whatsoever.
There is money to be made, but the key is in value. What are you providing to the potential customer...

I see it the other way around, yes more people will enter in order to try to make money. But it also means that there are more potential customers online we can make money from out there.

Regarding the big boys like Google patching all these stuff, are you really surprised?
Oldschool methods to rank were never supposed ''to be the way'' to be visible online. They always wished to prioritize quality stuff, and with the technology and knowledge of today that is becoming more of a thing. Thanks to these ''easy'' methods, they learned how it should not be done and hence adapt to it. Surely there are big boys from google undercover on these forums in order to learn from you!

I made some small money of it back then, ill take that and move on, find new ways to beat the competition!

I agree with this statement. Almost everyone wants to write about something - content does not equal to value. You need to provide them with something they can use - some tool or service or even advice. The change has been massive in IM.

I myself have been around since Senuke days (2011-12). Back then you could just one blast a page to top 10 and make some money. Same thing needs so much planning and implementation nowadays.

You need to study things like UX, analytics, linking structure (silo, offpage etc.). list goes on.

Also it's only going to get more difficult and expensive from here.

"From my experience 70% of the customers are using Paypal to pay. No Paypal = much less sales"
I haven't accepted PayPal on any of my site for many years. Just stop using PayPal, simple as that. You can use payment gateways that supports a lot of different methods, then you will see the conversion rate increase from the removal of PayPal rather than a fall.

Yes its getting harder. Do somthing nobody do. But internet is growing every day. So everyday more chance to sell. Anything. Make your own product. EBook. Softwear. App. YouTube video. Blog. Go supermicro niche. Like nano niches.

Everything as it gets more saturated will get harder, it's how you overcome the obstacles that make you the better, more profitable person
