Is Hostgator fine for a complete newbie?

Why is it better to go with Hostgator than these hosting sites with $1 dollar monthly offers?

Like I said, no idea about Internet Marketing, hosting or anything.
 
Different packages on hostgator allow you to put unlimited amount of domains up and running. And not so familiar about the other hosting services. FREEWEBSDESIGN <- $0.01 for 1st month
 
I do like hostgator because they are reliable and have been around for a long time. I have lost my website 2-3 times already because of my webhost going down and I wasnt able to obtain a backup.

Hostgator is definitely for the novice webmaster. The cpanel helps maintain your site very easily.
 
I have had all my websites hosted through hostgator, and I never ran into any problems, so to me, they are a great choice :)
 
Hostgator is fine for newbies who requires managed support for basic issues such as how to use cPanel control panel and configure email accounts.
 
Also give Dreamhost a shot! They have lots of possibilities, for noobs and pro's!
 
you will save alot of money if you use hawkhost's baby plan, it's great for SEO projects and you can always upgrade if you feel like it, check it out :)
 
Hostgator's the best hosting service i've tried. I use it for all my hosting needs now. I don't get downtime and the servers are really fast. (I don't work for HG)
 
Hostgator is reliable and you can use their 25%0ff discount coupon code to cut down on your hosting expenses.
 
I would go for their Baby Plan if you're planning to add more domains to it on the long run.

So far I didn't have any issues dealing with them like downtimes etc. And their customer support is very helpful.
 
HostGator is what I started with. But since then I have found solutions better suited for me.
My Advice is to use HostGator as a base and start with them. But always look out for better options.

I use a Nigeria web hosting site www.gurushost.com which are a reseller to hostgator and so far so good, I have no problem with them which means hostgator is good
 
I am using hostgator from past two years.... i have not faced any problem..
 
Yeah they are great for website hosting. I've been using them over a year on a couple of websites and they're awesome. I started when I was a noob.
 
hostagator is really a nice hosting firm.. Out of my experience of few sites that i own, i can say that they provide best in market.
With my involvement with hostagtor, they have given a coupon code that you can use to get hosting at mere 1 cent. All you have to do is use "CENTSERVER1" as coupon code. I don't think you will get any better hosting at such price.
 
I feel host gator can be a bit quarky at times. Bluehost seems easier to use and navigate. Imho

Hello I'm also new to all of this and this topic was quite useful for me. I'm starting to notice that most members combine HG with WP on their sites and projects, but visiting gator I played a little bit with their site building software and tools, which left me wondering if there's actually someone that is using or tried to use it in the past, on their sites.

If so I'm curious to know the main advantages and disadvantages of using those site bulding tools from host providers
