Is hostgator down now?

Isn't hostgator sourced through Single Hop? If so, would that be an indicator of issues with single hop (or the main data supplier), since many other hosts that work in the same way are down?

I don't think they are down, I had the same issue with NameCheaps hosting but they came back up after a little while.
 
I know what you mean. I had a large email campaign go out this morning. All links point to a site that is now down.

Not a good impression for the product.
 
1. check around and see which places are still up.
2. find out who they host with and switch to that place!
3. the end.

HG sites are finally back up (VPS). My Amazon-hosted sites never went down.

I was just as angry as everyone else...but here's how I took out my frustration: I jumped on Twitter and started spamming their thread with messages like: Still waiting for your sites to come online? In the meantime, check out our site (url here), we're still up! Got lots of new traffic...also copied/pasted an article about why the outage happened, and responded to people who hadn't a clue what was up with a link to the article on my site. Fresh traffic and some ad sense revenue as a result...always make lemonade when you get lemons!

Hostgator first raises taxes then stop websites...man what is this I am out of Hostgator for future, no more websites on their servers. For the money we pay this service is so bad and no explanation yet by HG.
 
Everything seems fine and smooth now... :)
 
I just called and they said they were mostly back in business with their servers. I asked what happened and the rep said there was the usual server move that ran into some difficulties. He acknowledge they weren't sharing a lot of information.

Yup, down again here. I should of switched hosting yesterday!
