With TikTok-style editing dominating, does spending on expensive cameras and studio setups still give an edge? Or are simple, authentic, fast-edited videos outperforming polished productions in 2026?

In my opinion, expensive cameras don’t give the same advantage they used to. Platforms mostly care about how viewers react — things like clicks, retention, and watch time. So a simple video with fast editing that keeps people watching can easily outperform a very polished production.

Of course, in some niches like travel or documentaries good visuals still matter. But in most cases what really makes the difference is whether the video is engaging and able to keep the viewer’s attention.

I think both can work, but raw and authentic content seems to perform better lately, especially on TikTok style platforms. High production still helps for branding, but simple, fast and relatable videos often get more engagement. Feels like authenticity matters more than perfection now.

Nobody cares about your fancy gear when the vibes are off, so keep it raw and real to actually grab people's attention. Authenticity is way hotter than some overproduced studio look anyway, so just hit record and have fun with it

Raw content seems to be performing better lately, especially on TikTok style platforms. Authentic and fast content often gets more engagement than overly polished videos. High production still helps for branding, but simple and consistent content seems to win overall.

Raw and authentic content seems to perform better in most cases now, especially on short form platforms. High production quality still helps in some niches, but it is not as important as the message and engagement. Fast, simple edits usually get more attention than overly polished videos.

I think the engagement is what matters most , if you can hook your viewers and tell a good story even raw content beats high quality content in that field

Raw content seems to perform better for engagement, especially on short form platforms. But good quality still helps with trust and branding. A mix of both usually works best depending on the audience.
