Is having a .US Domain name bad?

Does google negatively rank .us domains? How does google measure the .us domains? If I have a high ranking phrase that get's 600k a month searches with .us is it worth SEO? Or will google not give me as much love as a .com domain name regardless?

I've had a good experiences with .us domains, many of my sites on .us domains have ranked #1. So it shouldn't be a problem.

..Havent tried .us Domains yet, But TBH i never saw them at No1 Or in Top 10 results on Google

All i found is .Com / .Org/ .Net and quite a few .blogspot.com

They rank pretty better then .us

but it Depends upon what Keyword and location you wanna rank for.

If your main market is us, then go for it. But I would still prefer .com over .us!

You see more .com because big companies have them from the begining and only use .us as backup. .us are newer and with less money and backlink invested. In fact it could rank higher for local search.

Is having a .US Domain name bad?

I see it as bad because a .us domain cannot have a private WHOIS.
