If you buy a guest post from a cooking blog in spanish, it will be basically useless and spammy

They are working but you should only post on relevant blogs and use original content only. If there is a blog/website where you find all kinds of content on almost every topic, you shouldn't be doing guest posts on such blogs/websites.
