GSA is an excellent tool and highly recommended. Contrary to what people are saying, its not that hard to learn. Pretty easy actually an the support is mind blowing. Many people (along with the developer) will gladly help you out.
And I would stay away from outsourcing it. God knows what results you'll get or if any work will be done at all. But you will need a solid VPS and 10-20 proxies (private) to run the thing.
Its free for the first 5 days, so why not take it for a test drive?

GSA is worth the cost though the only issue i am having with it at the moment is getting the links indexed. I've had to get additional tools to help with indexing though i'm yet to fully evaluate the effectiveness of these.
It depends on the ROI of these "small websites" and "youtube videos".
If they will be profitable enough, then yes.
If it were me, I would either go all in, or not go at all.
In order to get great results from GSA, you need to spend some cash: server, proxies, indexer, captchas, etc, etc. People waste huge amounts of time/energy/money half-assing GSA and getting mediocre server/proxies, etc.
It is a big investment when you add it all up. So, if you are only wanting to rank small websites with low ROI, I would say, No, don't buy GSA, go and buy some High PR packages in BST.
GSA SER is definitely an awesome tool! Instead of paying $50 for a mediocore vps then just find yourself a cheap dedicated server and get twice as much power or even more for the same price. Also you will be just fine with shared proxies, just make sure you tell your provider what you're going to use them for, and a good provider will pair you up with other users who does not use the proxies for such things. Should you have some basic SEO knowledge then SER really is a quite easy tool to use. All the options and uses should explain themselves though as other people has mentioned, your biggest challenge will be a good list of targets.

Tune it to how you need it, use scripts, be extremely specific with it, and it's worth the time and money you invest if you also have a proper server and proxies.
It is not a push-button thing, though it certainly looks that way. In the end, though, it isn't necessary at all and so many users here succeed without it(and some won't even touch it).
I just wish there was more competition to SER. Licorne and SENuke and Clyde(!), I'm looking at you all.

GSA = officially the tits. However, do yourself a favor and get a good VPS to run it on. It's very very CPU-heavy. Also get a good amount of private proxies for it and either CS or CB and after that head on to the GSA forums for advice on settings and such. Setting it up correctly is extremely important.
The initial investment will sting if you're on a budget but it's really worth it. Now go spam!

Learning curve is not so hard, SER forum has all the answers.(still you have to invest a considerable amount of time editing engine files and footprints, but you can do it a step at a time)
VPS is just an option, private proxies still just an option, all depends on your expectations and how far and how fast you want to go.(you can still operate and get results without them all)
As far as Youtube videos, if you know what you are doing you can rank almost for anything within
a week or less (using SER). Maintaining the rankings is a different story.
If IM is a long term plan in your calendar then go for it all, you can payoff the investment in no time.
