sandbox is not real. but there is a time period to evaluate new sites from ranking which looks like sandbox.

Yes new websites are not flavored by Google.Thus you will have to wait again for some time for best results if you start with a new domain name.

lots of blog post (focus on low keyword) + social media profile help a lot for new site

Get some authority sites to link to you, dr 40 plus should do it. It works for all new sites, also link out to authority sites as well.
