Yeah Google right now prioritises more user engagement than backlink related sites. Backlinks are needed to climb the ranks but if your users don't engage then you have a dead website in the sight of Google. The ideal is a mix of both.Lately, it feels like metrics such as time on page, scroll depth, and click patterns are gaining more influence. Sites with strong user interaction seem to hold positions longer, while traditional backlink-heavy pages aren’t climbing as fast. Are we seeing a real shift in how Google measures authority, or is this just a temporary trend?
