Over the past couple of weeks, the Google search rankings have been pretty stable and calm. It actually has been unusually calm that some SEOs are getting nervous.

Some limited signals of an update both around https://www.seroundtable.com/some-google-algorithm-tracking-tools-update-32883.html and https://www.seroundtable.com/february-2022-google-webmaster-report-32868.html but those two were unusual ones. Then before that on https://www.seroundtable.com/unconfirmed-google-search-ranking-update-32809.html, https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-ranking-update-again-32790.html, https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-ranking-update-january-14-32762.html, then before that on https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-ranking-update-january-11-32742.html, and then it was quiet until some https://www.seroundtable.com/google-search-ranking-algorithm-jolt-32670.html. So for the past few weeks or so, if you exclude February 1st and 2nd and the weirdness from February 6th or so, it has been very quiet.

The ongoing WebmasterWorld thread had some chatter pick up a few days ago, around February 14th, and then continue through today. But the chatter is not massive, it is not signaling a massive ongoing Google update.

Then yesterday, there was a bit of a blip in the chatter - so a spike on February 167th.

Maybe they are signs of an update to come or maybe not?

There is already a small update this mo the as mentioned by some BHW members. Many of them faced ranking changes as well.

So it seems like an update?

Is anyone seeing a dip or something?

Two updates are rolling out.
1: Desktop Page Experience (Similar to last year around April when Mobile page experience rolled out) - This one's not much concerning
2: Passage Raking Update (Forums are taking serps again due to this one) - Highly concerning for those who were relying on Quora, Reddit, Forums to find out the low compt kw.

The so called BERT of google is trying to identify answers of Forums and other social media platforms where people discuss queries and taking those low formatted pages high on serp.
