Is Google reddit partnership going to kill blogging completely ?

In Feb this year, Google announced an expanded partnership with Reddit. If you use Google search frequently, you might have seen Reddit posts ranking on top for many keywords now. It has replaced the posts from bloggers. So will this result in death of blogging ultimately ?

In my opinion, the situation is not radical enough to be the reason for "death" of blogging, but it certainly can divert more bloggers from their own websites to reddit.

Such migration is not necessarily something bad (take YouTube, for example, and the lack of videoblogs on the rest of Internet), but it would surely bring change to IM concerning traditional blogs
 
Google eventually became an affiliate marketing site. They promoted their partners like wiki, pinterest, and reddit over the years, ranked their own parasites like youtube, g-sites, g-groups etc for irrelevant search terms, tried to incorporate shopping into search, etc. Blogging survived despite all this. Blogging will survive a lot more but Google may not.

Yes, many people now use reddit to link to blogs, and God opens a window when he closes a door for you.
 
They're gonna diminish Reddit importance with time. They'll probably update how serps look in the future.

Half of the screen real estate is empty on desktop under info queries.

I think they won't keep it that way.

It will be more AI and fact checking oriented.

There's too much bs currently and they're well aware of it.
 
Yes, they are definitely getting more traffic. If you check them in traffic analysis software you can easily see this.

There will be a reduction of clicks but it is hardly enough to shut everyone.
 
I bet they'll create something like Google for single people but there's YouTube already so I don't know.

Google is companies competing with bloggers which is nonsense.

A little bit of a disruption, but it wont ruin blogging at all. In my own experience doing searchers, the shit that google suggests on reddit is often trash.

Do some searches about affiliate marketing and SEO, you'll find reddit posts ranked on google like "I just realized my website I created during google has earned me $4.70 in affiliate commision over the past 3 years" then all the other failures on the subreddit that never made any money upvote it and say how amazing it is. Normal people will recognise reddit is a shit website with shit advice mostly written by failures and losers, click the back button, and go find a blog post about an actual relevant SEO case study(well, in context of that topic, for example). Not all of us want to take advice from homosexual basement dwellers and know it all teen agers with 0 life experience. Just like a blog, you'd still need actual good content or you'll most traffic will still bounce.

Sure, some topics reddit may actually be useful for, though generally, most of the time there's a much better blog post.

The current niche and previous niche I've been working on have nearly no reddit results in any of the niche searches.

It is a big general statement that Google suggests trash results with reddit on top spots. If that was really true, Google would not have been that relevant what it actually is.
 
Definitely taking reddit as a source to make pizza with glue and eat rocks to live longer yeah, naah even they don't know what they are doing, right now they are just a joke, they are not going to kill blogs that is for sure.
 
I never said it wouldn't hurt anyone. It's just that Google seems to care more about big brands than regular folks. But hey, we're all here to make money, and there's no way around that. So I'd rather think we'll keep doing it instead of giving up right from the start.

It doesn't matter if reddit is a joke or not. They are ranked better than blogs and get all the traffic.
 
Despite the agreement, Google and Reddit have not always been on the same page; Reddit previously threatened to block Google from crawling its site for fear that the company would use its data for free to train artificial intelligence models.
 
Will they destroy blogging? Ah yep a little bit, because all big sites who are ruling google seo include Facebook, Reddit (and other social platforms) are members in the organization WEF, google too, they help each other. Google helps them first always, not you. You (we the folks) we coming later to that game so that these lobbyist members are always beyond us.

When reddit is claiming more and more claiming small target niches sothey will rank in the top of google not your website in that same niche. All social platforms doing this today. Always have a Plan B in your mind my friend !
 
From my experience, my content is ranking higher and higher now because Reddit is eliminating competition and banning spam accounts.
