I have had great success with G+ in driving traffic to my site, and on peak days it out performs my Facebook traffic by 80%. My recommendation would be to find health related G+ communities and become a active community member there. Study the way other members post and interact with each other. Once you have been a community member for a bit, you inherently will gain trust and people wont just write your links off as spam.

I found out that some communities are very active in Google plus and a good way to generate traffic is to build your own community

Compare to G+ community, facebook and twitter community have a larger number of followers

Google+ team should seriously think about UI again, from my perspective it's too difficult for modern users, which used to tap-scroll interface, like instagram.

for me is most importa google plus than even social media. just saying in my case.
