Is Google page 2 a good first start?

I launched my blog yesterday

www.wholesaleblogger.com

And today I Google one of my pieces to find it at number 13 and page two. Is this a good start for very little SEO (Its a Worpress blog and I use Wordpress SEO only)

It depends on what keywords you are ranking for but it seems like a good start.
Also it is known that new blogs can rank higher than usual then fall later - google dance.

In my opinion, it's a great start. Keep doing the same thing get some high quality backlinks and you will be in 1st page in no time.

If you're there from minimal work, then you should be able to take 1st page easily no problem when you put in some serious work. Good job picking your site!

Te keywords is just something am looking at really as quite new to it all, the research and getting those into the article or post so for the first posts I pretty much just used the title. for example my page 1 on Google today if for 'starting your business a simple guide' so I wonder really does someone have to type that exact phrase in or would a part word search show my post ?

Look at on-site optimization tutorials\articles.

It'll cover:
- the meta title and description tags you want to put specific keywords in.
- Using the <title> tag instead of the meta title tag
- Using H1\H2\H3 tags effectively to reiterate what the subject of your content is about and sub categories\sections' titles are
- Renaming images and using ALT tags
- Structuring urls
- Proving sitemaps to submit to search engines

Optimization:
- Scaling images down to optimize site speed
- Not making extra requests (using css image sprites \ combining css \ js)
- Compression
- Cacheing

There's a lot you can do to focus on optimization on-site that will give you benefits in 100% completely white hat ways.

Also, don't be logged into any Google account when you want to manually verify a SERP for sites your ranking. They always piss on your leg and tell you it's raining.

I just surf on my phone so I don't have to piss around with a privacy setting, and know that I'm using my 3g instead of my home wifi.

I check out your site and you done it great so far.. keep it up & try to add more attractive themes with colors.

Use more better quality back links. then u can come up with a good high rank...
