Is google doing tests with my website?

Hi, this is not the first time I see one of my webistes increasing its daily visitors x10, but it only lasts one day. So I remember someone saying that google is sometimes making tests, pulling out a website from page 2-3 and display it in first position in order to see how people react and re-order the serps. Are these tests real? One of my websites has an average of 400 daily visitors, and yesterday went to +2500, basically all additional visitors went to a internal URL.

Do you really think Google has time for those kind of tests.

What you are experiencing right now is just an algorithm update that Google is doing to its search engine.
 
Yes it's just an algorithm udpate, don't bother with these kind of small updates, focus on the long term plan and stick to it.

I can only guess that some complete and utter clueless clown like Charles Floate told you such a thing.
 
If it was only an algorithm update, it's a very unstable one, going from 400 to 2500 and then back to 400. I experienced this in the past with new websites, they rank top 1-5 for one day, then they return to 3rd page and slowly move up.

They probably are. It's a very common thing.

The FBI tests random civilians to find new agents.

I passed once but told them I wasn't interested.
 
Don't think about all these like Google testing, Google eating craps. Better spend more time on improving your website's quality. Make plan long term planing.
