Is Google Dancing Right Now?

starting to hate this fucking company, it seems all the time they are striving to just show big brands, or erode your marketplace. Through my SEO efforts to get back where i should be on page one, with shitty EMD domains ranking higher, I am losing money each day. Someone gonna rip off matt cutts head someday

Total newbie question here, but I just want some reassurance. My rankings have dropped also, but I should keep building links during this, right?

Yeah, too many links too fast = some filter which dumps your site on page 500 or higher, most often with google books, not sure their exact formula for this tho

Buddy, I can understand your frustration

How about stopping blaming google and looking at the activities we are doing for our Internet Marketing efforts? That is something which we can control

since blaming google or Matt Cutts wont give us anything, Instead, if we focus on those things that are under our control, we will be able to achieve much more and be more happy with the results :)

Think about it...All the best!

Can anyone chime in if the drop in rankings is temp or does it come back stronger?

That will depend on what you do while it's dancing.

It's really hard to say, as G has been rolling out updates lately that are effecting search more than usual.

Keep doing what you do. Time always wins.

One position change and your freaking out?

That's normal behavior, especially as you get closer to the bottom of Page 1 and farther down.

Don't worry about it, you may even see bigger fluctuations of 3-6 spots +/- and this is completely normal. Remember, you are linkbuilding and the Google dance typically occurs as a result of this.

Can we expect to come out ontop of this?

depend of what you do. it's no garant that wil come back stronger. if you make some backlinks, maybe yes, but if you make some mistakes, maybe not. that is big ff G,

i am seeing some crazy results, i have a 2wk old domain that has had a flying start and has seen 50% of its kws appear on page 1 or 2, then 24 hours later they dropped to page 4 and 5 then i had a new set of kw's appear from nowhere in at number 60 then 24 hours later they have gone.

i am still seeing some decent results considering its a new domain but virtually everytime I check they have moved +/- and sometimes by as much as 100+ places.

Hope not. Just noticed for another one of my KWs, I dropped.

Yes! Zomg, I've gone from my homepage being page 1 #3 for a competitive keyword to page two #5, and what's even weirder is a page that doesn't get much traffic on my site is now in the #3 spot on first page. Weeeeird.

I wish we knew .. had a site of mine drop off the radar completely. Was page 3 after tweaking onpage SEO to the max - now its disappeared. I have read that often when this happens (you disappear completely), that you come back higher in the serps - anyone know what sort of timeframe we're talking about here (ie. from when you disappear to when you bounce back)?

It's always up in the air m8. I've had some disappear for only a few hours, and some disappear for a whole week =/

Yeah I'd say it's the Google Dance, to be honest whenever you build new links your website starts to dance, so expect it whenever you do build more backlinks. As long as you come out of the dance with a better ranking, it's fine :)

Not sure what is going on with you guys. I haven't seen much movement downwards in awhile (months).

What type of links are everyone using?

How long is the dance for normally?

One of my sites has been moving around somewhat. It can change every few weeks to several months since panda started.
