Is Google becoming worse nowadays?

Is google becoming worse or is competitors becoming good faster than google?



I mean, those sites from google results may provide reliable info and they are doing a good job, but as a programmer you may prefer stackoverflow because upvotes leads to the right direction or you want a quick answer.

What's happening with google, is this search engine not evolving?

but in case you think google results is better, could you explain?

I stopped using google for programming/config stuff ages ago, got sick of finding tutorials in the top that where 5+ years out of date and the software versions had depreciated 90% of the stuff that was explained, maybe this is how they are trying to remedy it, by essentially no longer giving out of date information to people looking for the answers to various thing.

Having the website URL above the Meta title is bad enough already.

The problem with google is they are over optimizing. They want to provide to you only the best possible answer to a question/search but that is impossible because there are too many variables. Hence in the long run they will only achieve the exact opposite. They should stop trying to decide for people what they are looking for and just deliver the information and let users sort it out themselves.

This has been going on for years, Google SERPS is outdated at best, if you are looking for tech stuff you will only find outdated garbage even with the time set to last month.
