Google Analytics real time numbers can look higher than the main reports because they track differently and many users notice the same thing

I don't think it ever is. I'll see website views and traffic down. But then when I'm on my Google business profile it shows clicks and website visits are up. I hardly use any SEO tools and just rely on if the customer is happy or not.

I also have some similar problems

You're not alone this is a very common issue in Google Analytics, and almost everyone sees it at some point. What you're experiencing is normal behavior, not a bug in your specific account.

Real-time often shows inflated numbers
so seeing fewer visits in the main reports is normal.

Real-time data is inflated and they usually trim AI bots and other suspicious users before reporting data.

To be honest - Google Analytics is not that good as Yandex. Alot of companies in Europe, for example used to integrate Ya analytics.

But SEO in Google is better than Yandex SEO. Lol, but sometime Google made SEO worse, specially - to show more AD's.

That sound ridiculous.

So, that's a funny thing.

I’ve noticed GA can be weird sometimes real time numbers often don’t match the overview so you’re definitely not alone it’s a common quirk with how Google reports data

Google Analytics is working fine today with no major outages reported.

The core reason for the mismatch is that Real-Time is sampling raw, unprocessed data, while the Overview reports include data that has gone through processing, filtering, and attribution modeling. The Real-Time report often overcounts active users or hasn't fully applied all session definitions yet. In short, always trust the Standard Reports (like Acquisition or Engagement) over the Real-Time counter for accurate visitor numbers, and check the Admin > Data Settings > Data Filters to ensure you aren't filtering out valid traffic in the final processed reports.

Many users experience inconsistencies between real-time tracking and overview data in Google Analytics due to factors like tracking delays, filter settings, or data sampling, so it's not uncommon to see discrepancies in reported traffic.

You’re not the only one — this is a common issue with Google Analytics.

Real-time data often shows higher numbers because it counts every active session instantly, while the main reports filter out:
  • bot/invalid traffic
  • quick bounces
  • duplicate sessions
  • delayed processing
It’s normal to see a difference. It happens for many users, not just you
