About 10 years ago when I first got my first job at a digital agency i found that many staff (so i naturally followed) had a routine of checking GA daily, every morning, for their clients.

it was almost like they had to just pad out their 9-5 so spent time every day just looking at GA , not really doing anything off the back of if

I know GA is a super powerful analytics tool - but how necessary is it for day to day work on an seo client?
Oncd an audit has been done (and I think from a purr SEO view GA’s most useful role is just getting page view/traffic data of pages) i personally can go weeks and weeks without “needing” to look at GA.

How often do YOU use GA for your seo projects, and what are the key things you use it for?

I had a tendency to check google analyzics quite often. But to me it's the same as browsing social media, it doesn't matter that much except for checking if the strategy you implemened really works.

GA is def NOT an overrated tool. If anything, I think is the opposite (underrated).

The fact that people suffer from some kind of OCD and have that "urge" to check it every single day and even a few times within the same day doesn´t have anything to do with the value the tool provides to marketers and SEOs in particular.

it's like jerking off to many ppl. f5 their stat dashboard all day. instead of really working

google analytics is over complicated. try simpler alternatives like statcounter, etc. or simply self-host with some wordpress plugin.
