Hey!

I want to purchase a .se domain but namecheap doesn't sell those so I was thinking about sticking with godaddy but I am not sure since I have read that people tend to lose their domains from time to time?

I have been with godaddy for many years without issue.

If you don't have a trademarked domain you should be fine.

When I read about domains being snatched it was more that they checked the availability saw it was available and then went to purchase later on and it was no longer available as opposed to losing a domain you already have registered.

I don't think you would have an issue with godaddy. Unless you don't make a payment or something but what business would like not getting paid?

GoDaddy is better with domains than with hosting. If, you still feel uncomfortable with having GoDaddy as your domain registrar, you can always transfer the domain to a domain registrar you trust after 60 days.

I usually buy my sites with godaddy for $1 using coupons and transfer the name servers to my doteasy domain :)

Be careful to read all their terms and check prices for rebills/renewals before ordering from them. Be prepared to be spammed, cold called and so on. They may hijack your domain when you change name servers or your address changes. Bad trip sooner or later, I am afraid to say.

Godaddy is good place for you buy domain and hosting.

I've been working with Godaddy for like 6 years now. Yes they're able to "steal" your account if you're not sure that you want to buy it and you make a reservation, but this is happening only if you hesitate for like 2-3 weeks in buying/not buying this account.
In the rest you have a decent service from them.
