I have used Godaddy for years but I am also taking all my domains and moving them to domainsite as they come up for renewal.

Domainsite is an offshoot of namecheap. They have .50 cent a yr privacy and cheaper domains. Godaddy is a rip off for sure.

If it's Godaddy that's doing it, or if they have security issues that they are aware of but not addressing, it's illegal. Someone, needs to report them ASAP.

Ha that's interesting. I thought I was the only one. I got email 2 weeks ago stating my domain I dropped 3 years ago got sold. I tried contacting them several times and even the new buyer got pissed and emailed me. They are still emailing me asking to initiate transfer even I explained via email and phone that I have nothing to do with that domain.
I am so glad I moved to namecheap.

Damn, thats unprofessional. Godaddy does some really weird things at times. I've always had bad experience with them. Good thing you moved.

Also there are chances of your account being compromised, go to msconfig and see if there are any suspicious startup registry entries.

Godaddy will call you to remind you when your shitty domains are about to expire, but you'll never get a call when your good names expire. I lost a lot of good domains like this, some seemed shady the way it was quickly, stealthily done. Moved to 1&1 - no problems since.
