Is 'Get x Account for Free' by using incentive CPA dead?

I was wondering if the niche of getting premium paid accounts for free by participating in CPA offers is still working or dead? it is old as far as I can remember and don't see it anymore!
What do you think?

It's not dead nor will it be. People are always looking to get stuff for free

Not dead, but you have to be pretty good at it to beat all the competition.
