Is gambling more about skill or chance?

Why are games of chance like blackjack and poker more frequently linked with gambling than games of skill like chess, checkers and go?

games of chance = gambling.

Your initial hand will define your winning potential with such games (who has more chance of winning in blackjack if I have pair of two's or you with Ace and 10?). With chess or go each player has predefined positions and only skills will help you to win against the opponent during the course of game.
 
Chess, like other games, requires skill just like in sports. Even if luck is still a component in poker, it gets smaller and smaller the more hands you play. You can be rather awful over the near term, even a year, but nevertheless run hot as hell and maintain winning overall. Therefore, luck is a major component in gambling, and luck alone determines the outcome of casino games.

Hi Danesh_87 these my experience my suggestion you try this method. Gambling, by definition, means betting something of value on an uncertain event. It could be a throw of the dice, a flip of a playing card, or the result of a sports game. In this case, gambling is always associated with a certain level of luck. Thanks you

I agree, buddy.
I discovered that games at a casino like BK8 where you may increase your chances of winning is blackjack. At the casino, it takes a lot of investigation and mental effort. In some games, luck plays a major role in the outcome.

Games of chance are those in which you have absolutely no control over the outcome & their outcomes are totally dependent on what human beings call luck. In poker & blackjack involve both strategy and what human beings call luck. As per me, anything related to gambling such as casino games, horse racing betting, etc should be avoided.
 
There are certain games that are pure luck and others that are mixed with skills and luck, For example, roulette is pure luck. The house is destined to win and you are destined to lose. There is nothing you can do to win except get lucky. But poker requires a lot of skills. You play against other players and your skills play a major role for you to win.
 
gambling = sure house win in the long run. you can't go against mathematics
 
If you mean gambling in life, then it's a skill. If you mean gambling in a casino, then it's a stupiditiy.

the first sentence you made is true, the other I'd argue. When I go to the casino, my goal is always to have a good time. If I finish my session with more money than I initially had, great. If not, well it is entertainment expense. It's always the same type of people raging and punching the slot machines making the scene who can't afford to lose it and look at local casino as a money making opportunity. It is not

The problem gambling is serious issue though, and that is a reason why running casino offers is so lucrative. It is basically exploiting those having the problem, just about the same reason why those running coke enterprise are so well off. Addictions make so much money
