if the post isn't spammy, is on topic and conversational and answers a question or brings actual value to the forum topic, yes to both

Forum links are good for diversity no ranking changes normally happens, some traffic may come or zero traffic may come depends on age of account it’s posted from and link relevancy

Forums are a (big) part of the Internet, so there is no reason to believe that google would completely omit them from their algorithm.
So yes they can be helpful in SEO. And of course they can and do bring traffic, but I would say for a small minority of posts. But say you get a forum post highly ranked either in google, or in the stickies, then yes it can obviously bring traffic.

Of course it is. I find it useful even dropping certain links at certain places just for the sake of it.

Yes, I feel forum posting is helpful but we need to make sure not to spam anywhere.

They are usefull if you are not spamming with them, posting on niche related forums can bring traffic to your site and boost your metrics aswell.
