It was working for me for a while. With a mix of having an engaging following, ads and follow/unfollow I was able to reach 10k. Once I hit 10k hardly anyone will follow me back and my growth has halted tremendously. Instagram is almost not worth it anymore to me as I make money elsewhere now.
