Is Firefox Imacros Addon dead?

Hi All,
I've been using Imacros for Firefox for a long while and Today I have noticed a weird behavior on Imacros Addon 8.9.7 for Firefox. It shows me only "Favorits" folder and "Demo-Firefox" folder.
I can't change it for any other folder.

Since I didn't update any software, I have found this weird, because I was using old version of Firefox 56 and old version of add-on 8.9.7. How could Imacros lock me from using these features, which I was successfully using all this time?

Anyone could help, please?

Hello iMacros for Firefox users old and new. I’m sure that many of you have already noticed or have started wondering about iMacros compatibility with the current release of Firefox (56 at the time of writing) and especially what will happen with iMacros after Mozilla releases Firefox 57, which uses a new framework for add-ons.

The latest version of iMacros for Firefox, 9.0.3, does not work with Firefox 56 and will not support Firefox 57 or later. The changes that Mozilla adopted in Firefox 57 to implement their WebExtensions API, which is similar to the extensions API used by Chrome and other browsers, impacts many Firefox add-ons including iMacros.

Our developers are currently busy developing a new version of iMacros for Firefox that supports the new API, see our latest post: “iMacros for Firefox Beta Coming Soon”. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

In the meantime, if you need to continue using iMacros for Firefox we suggest staying with Firefox 55.0.2 (and disabling automatic updates).

For the most functionality and best stability, we recommend downgrading to iMacros for Firefox 8.9.7 and staying with Firefox 49.0.2. Instructions for downgrading iMacros for Firefox can be found in the iMacros wiki.

Of course, you are also welcome to try iMacros for Chrome or one of our commercial editions!

Yeah, thanks. Moreover, I have found that they have disabled JS files support, which means all my scripting now goes to trash=(
Any solutions to that change?

Downgrade FF to a version, which still worked fine with iMacros and disable autoupdate. If FF is the browser of your choice what you use for browsing, you can create a separate instance for iMacros and downgrade that. Or use the standalone iMacros Browser, some of the scripts might need tweaking, because FF and their browser doesn't work the same.
 
I have downgraded the browser to FF 49 and had Imacros 8.9.7 on it. It doesn't run JS scripts, I believe this is due to their API, which is now disabled.
I am not sure, but I think that scripts were compiling using their API and now JS scripts do not run.
Actually I can run .js file, but can't use iimPlay command anymore.
Only .iim extensions do run well.

I see, well i guess you either wait for the new release or try the standalone browser, maybe the Chrome addon, but i never liked that one.
 
not true imacos is still used heavly but they use the old version of the firefox browser and when each project is done it compiled as a portable firefox project.

no guru of imacros going to change there programming skills they just adapt.

i was told via a imacro programmer that firefox will eventually go back to imacros support .
 
Chrome sucks since I can't have profiles there with proxies. The great thing of FF is to have Profiles which are seen as stand alone browser if set up under dedicated private proxy.
New release won't help, since they have made this change with the purpose of boost sales.

The funnies thing is that even if I am willing to pay for a license, I won't be able to run JS scripts either. They just disabled JS support.

Will need to learn Selenium, if no solution comes up.

Selenium way foward but you just adapt with making portable firefox for your client's.

i dont think javascript will ever be turned off these days it use to heavy.

Could you please confirm that you're able to run file with .js extension with iimPLay() in it successfully using FF Imacros addon? If so, could you please let me know the version you're using?

your need a guru in imacro i am sure Google can help .
 
Its still working but to old version of firefox. I've been using it everyday.

Use firefox 48.0 and imacros version is 9.0.3

Just installed and it runs js files. Thanks a lot mate. Now it still doesn't allow me to change path for files=( Any chance you got a solution for this issue?
