Is Facebook Ads really about optimization — or is it all about the account?

Lately I’ve been talking with a lot of people running Facebook ads, and one pattern keeps showing up:

Same creatives.
Same offer.
Sometimes even the same BM.

Yet the results are completely different.

Some accounts scale smoothly.
Others get restricted, limited, or flagged almost immediately.

So the real question is:
Are we actually bad at optimizing — or does the account itself define the ceiling?

From what I’ve seen, there are a few common scenarios:

  • Fresh accounts: slow reviews, heavy scrutiny, one wrong move and you’re restricted
  • “Normal” aged accounts: can run, but struggle when scaling — learning phase resets, CPC spikes
  • Accounts from certain channels: more stable early on, easier to scale (and yes, they’re rare)

On top of that:

  • FB’s risk control feels more “algorithmic” than logical
  • Compliance rules keep tightening, but real flexibility keeps shrinking
  • The people who scale consistently tend to stay very quiet

So I’m genuinely curious:
How much do you think account quality matters compared to optimization?
Is it skill > account, or account > everything else?
In 2026, does it still make sense to build and warm up accounts from scratch?

My personal (maybe unpopular) opinion:

With equal skills and creatives, the account itself determines at least 60% of the outcome.

Would love to hear different perspectives — success stories, failures, bans, or unexpected wins.

Your account quality is directly proportional to how much you spend, imo. They just want your money. New accounts finding success with their ads is just beginner's luck. To find success and to scale using FB ads, you need data to optimize your ads and to collect data you need to throw a lot of money and even after that success is not guaranteed.

Account safety is crucial for business success. If your account isn’t secure, it doesn’t matter how great your creatives or optimization are—your growth will be limited. Using an antidetect browser can help protect your account’s fingerprint and prevent flags, giving you the stability needed to scale. In 2026, ensuring account safety isn't just about avoiding bans; it’s about building a reliable foundation for your business to thrive.

Yes, optimization matters a lot - your creatives, targeting, copy, testing.. all of that can make or break a campaign. Even small tweaks can change results.
But account health also plays a role. A stable, well-managed account usually runs more smoothly than a brand-new or constantly restricted one.
So it's not "either this or that." It's a mix. Good strategy, strong creatives, and a healthy account together are what usually bring consistent results.
