I've been doing some reading on Etsy topics and noticed that many people say that their accounts get banned for no apparent reason. I am considering giving Etsy a try for some original art that I have sitting around (not AI generated, made by real human). It was made last year for project that didn't launch and original art is not doing anything.

I am thinking of using Etsy for POD because its easier to reach customers on it as compared to lets say creating Shopify and trying to sell art on your own. Art is original and unique with no one else selling it on Etsy or any other platforms. Adding my art to POD provider and importing into Etsy or Shopify is pretty much same process. I am just concerned that if I put effort into Etsy store there is big chance that it will get shutdown for no apparent reason. On Shopify I don't fear this problem but Etsy can provide organic traffic.

My niche is fairly unique and is combination of 2 more popular niches on their own. Example that I will use has nothing to do with my niche and I'm just using it to illustrate how my own niche combines 2 niches.

Lets say my niche is Las Vegas Skyline UFOS. On its own Las Vegas gets a lot of searches on Etsy because its popular tourist destination. There are also people searching for UFO related art. My original art could show up on both types of broad searches organically. I am not revealing my niche where there is not a lot of competition and intentionally using hard niches of Las Vegas + UFOS. I know it would be hard to show up organically in saturated niches but for my actual niche there is not much competition for first topic (Las Vegas) and a lot of competition for second topic (UFOs) but combine them together there is zero competition.

Doing the same on Shopify would mean I would have to look for FREE or PAID traffic on my own. Etsy there will be some organic traffic and easier to buy PAID traffic from them as compared to Shopify and relaying 3rd parties (ie. FB / TikTok / IG) to test PAID traffic until I find which ads convert to sales.

My big concern from reading on BHW that after I put all effort to create XX product listings and start gettting some sales that Etsy can shutdown my account and I will have my time and effort wasted. I read about people with legitimate stores that don't do any blackhat stuff and still get suspensions and sometimes it can take weeks to resolve.

I was thinking about creating a POD store and start selling my designs.

There are a lot of other sellers , doing the same thing. They have thousands of sells and great reputation.
The real problem is, as i've read many articles, Etsy is banning accounts easily for selling digital products and POD.
Etsy leans towards to sellers with their "handmade" products.

I will make the etsy store as soon as i have more time ,due to work overload. Just to have it up and running. No ads, no promo. Maybe one day i will get to it.
When you make yours @Ahmed Al Banna , send me the link and i will support you.
Wish you best luck! :)

I m going full ham into Etsy since 2 weeks, got like 60$ until now.
I m trying to find my place there and play around in different niches.

I have an Etsy store and its not doing well. I wonder what others are doing as I only get 1 sale a month

I am grateful that I am not seeing replies to this thread where people mention of recent account bans for no reason.

im in the process of creating 2 accounts involving selling POD tshirt designs for mothers that are trendy. I had 3 or 4 accounts thoughout 2.5 years on etsy not taking off but none got banned.

it is worth trying but you also have to send traffic to your product via social media or content site. if you just post on Etsy and hope you will get sales it will be real slow to start but maybe pick up in a few months after sales reviews

What you mean “content site”?
