Is email marketing still doing good? Please share personal experience with it.

Hi BHW members

I recently developed an interest in making an email service providing company like aweber mailchimp
Success to any business depends on the success of the customers.
So, in this case, the question boils down to 'Is Email marketing still working.'
I see Gmail, Yahoo etc so aggressively working against spam that even I send an email to 10 friends of mine chances are high for few it may reach in spam.
Plus if we are able to win against SPAM folder then we have another problem and that is Promotions folder. So if my emails reaching promotions folder my guess says only 2% percent people will go to that folder and check emails.

So in this scenario of the market is it a good idea to build an Email sending company.
Note: my needs are just 1500$ a month.

I request people share real experiences.

If you send via gmails SMTP you get a much higher chance of landing in the inbox.

Thanks for the input. But this technique can be used only at a very small scale. May 1-2 campaigns. I doubt if it can work for 100 clients with 3-4 campaigns each client. There we need a dedicated smtp server/servers with many ip
 
Most of the platforms have a free tier, that is good for most people.

Seems building that would be a huge time suck, cost some funds, and highly competitive industry.

AWeber, Mailchimp, Benchmark and plenty more.

Email marketing still works. I use Benchmark and get about 27% open rate on an opt in list.
 
Bare in mind BHW spread their cheeks wide for Spamhaus a few years ago so most discussion is banned.

Emailng isn't cheap, if you can write bots you can send A LOT of emails

talking about white hat email sending also banned?
if thats the case i can drop it
 
It's too competitive because the big players Mailchimp, Aweber etc are already dominating the market so for a guy who is just starting out, it's impossible for you to make enough money from this type of service.

Get into a venture which has little to no competition.

I cant suggest a service based business that has no competition but what I can suggest is that you start an affiliate site with low comp keywords and promote the site via Youtube + SEO.

You can get good low comp keyword research services at BHW marketplace. Once you got the right niche and low comp keywords, it will be easy for you to rank on Google + easy traffic from YouTube (you can easily game YouTube seo)

how much it is making $$ for you?
 
Email marketing is always good for push marketing.
You can use mail-chimp and can set-up auto respond function as per the user response.

It depends upon your marketing & the client lists. If you are sending Sweet Related emails to a diabetic patients ; then you will get ZERO sale for sure.
Mailing list is very important, then it comes to your Email content.
