Question is clear is a contextual backlink from ucla.edu or harvard.edu or any other edu website is good for site ? Should pointing it directly going to be better or to the first tier ?

If these links are gem then why they are available on cheap ?
Is getting 10-20 edu , gov links from fiver and pointing to my money site is OK ? Or links drom selected US university like mentioned above harvard , ucla are good deals

Because they are over rated, a real EDU/GOV site is the powerfull link you can have, but it's extremely difficult to have them, more difficult than link on big site like forbe, the link gov/edu you can buy around there are "web2 based" so they are free and they are located in sub domain, so still worth but don't expect a miracle with this, if you have a link from the real domain you will skyrocket your SEO

ucla.edu and harvard.edu are the 2 most sold edu links
 
I don't believe in edu and gov links anymore, not even in authority links. I've seen them do sh!t instead of wonders.

When you have a solid profile full of authority links, that's a different story though.
 
Do not put too many hopes in a single link. 99% of them are created on subpages or subdomains with 0 links and 0 traffic. These won't have a big impact on your rankings.
 
Yep, there is no way you're going to get links to crappy affiliate sites though. Most of the links you can get off fiverr are just web 2.0s as someone mentioned above where anyone can sign up and create BS blog posts/profiles. They're probably good for diversity... provided you can even get them to index, which is a pretty hard gig these days. And even if you do manage to get it indexed, it's likely that it will just get deleted within months by a mod.
 
I work in the gambling niche and have recently just seen a site today that is focused on video slots with a lot of links from .edu domains upload_2016-6-15_13-40-39.png I've got no idea how he got them on there especially as the anchor text is all slots related and these are just a handful of the domains that are linking to the site.
 
EDU and GOV domains are more powerful than other domains. Likewise, links from these sites also have more powerful. But also check the metrics of the links. I think these university domain has more metrics. So better to link with it.
 
What you sheep never seem to understand is that TLD's doesn't matter (they never did).
The reason why .edu & .gov's are so powerful is because the websites employing those TLD's generally have a much higher trust level (universities and governments).

However if you were to somehow get your hands on a brand new vanilla .edu domain then it wouldn't be worth more than a vanilla .com domain.

So yea, .edu/.gov's are generally good, but not because of the TLD's themselves.
 
Yes Edu and Gov links are more powerfull. There are literally dozens of articles out there in the great world wide web and every few months a different database begins and these links are really worth for rankings.
So you can point it directly to get a better rankings.
 
A comment link is worth only a comment link, that is why they are cheap. Which means they will move nothing in SERPs, period !
