Is eBay antiques/vintage profitable?

Hi guys, recently I was talking with somebody about this niche with the business model of buying from Europe and selling on eBay US.

Do you have any idea if this is a profitable niche?

It depends what you sell. Antique/vintage is not a niche it is a category of products.

A guy on a recent Antiques Roadshow found out a Rolex he bought for $300 in the 60s while serving in the army is worth $400K.

I have had great success selling vintage Iron Maiden shirts. Easy $1000 for some 80s tour shirts.

I picked up a pair of vintage 24k gold filled aviator sunglasses off local craigslist for $100 and sold on eBay for $700.

Find an Amazing Fantasy #15 comic book in your basement and you can cash in for a million or more.

There are endless niches in antiques/vintage.

It’s good for making money although in this category sell is very low but profit is. As people don't think to collect their dreamy products.

It would be a challenge to collect antiques.

The past year and a half i've been selling vintage clothes on ebay, etsy, and depop but am moving away from the business as competition has gotten extremely fierce. Plus the wholesale prices that I was getting for picking vintage wasn't that great anymore. Fun while it lasted, but too many people are spending hours upon hours to make like 5 bucks an hour.

I have an interest in antiques as well. But the thing is you have to know your products and that kind of knowledge takes time to develop. Maybe someone can correct me here but you hardly become an expert in a week or a month.
