Is Duplicate Content So Bad?

And that's the same reason they tanked during the panda update. Avoid duplicate content, not because it's bad, but because Google says so and it's their search engine so you have to play by their rules.

That you can use duplicated content, it is not a problem what so ever.
I have sites that have pages with 5% uniqueness, these sites have 500+ of those pages with 95% of exact same content on the SAME .info domain, the only difference in the content is the city/state name true out the content, the rest (about 1500 words) is exactly the same, and i have been doing it this way since 2009, i have sites older then 5 years with this content bringing me daily leads.
If you wanna test it yourself (like you should) shoot me a PM i have just the tool (plugin) to do just that, get a domain and test it yourself...
Don't take my word for it, i can be just the same kind of bullshitter as 98% of the all the Google fearing n00bs here

There's no point putting duplicate content on your site like this. You can put a whole Ezine on your web site except the home page, it wont attract a lots of traffic even in that case.
You have put time and money into generating really great content on your site. If you cant do it yourself, you have to get it done from out side.

Big G will hate Duplicate Content. Don't use duplicate content to increase your backlink. Instead of you can get the single backlink from your relevant niche it will be more useful. Instead of Quantity take care about Quality.
