Is duplicate content ok?

The thing is im writting tutorials. They are CATEGORIES on wordpress and each lesson is a post in that category.

thing is, some lessons overlap.

So tutorial 1 has all tutorial 1 lessons + 3 generic lessons

tutorial 2 has all tutorial 2 lessons + 3 generic lessons (same as above)


is this ok in this case to make duplicate content?
 
Advertise on BHW
Create a separate page for generic lessons
and put a link in each page.

Are those a small part of what your page is about, or the important part.

if those are like 50/50 important then you shouldn't duplicate content but if that part is like 20/80 important, then you can use it.
Just my personal theory

Well I will do them both. they have low text anyway. the reason why i cant repeat them, even if i were to link from one silo to another, is because some parts change, even tho 70% of these posts is the same
 
You can do it, however it's a bit risky. To lessen the risk make sure a canonical URL is defined.
 
It is very risky in my opinion and can result in penalty from Google.
 
Grounds for action concerning duplicate contents will depend on how Google will see it. If they see it as something against their guidelines regardless of then intention, then they will do what they see fit. Better be careful.
 
You have to make some differences in contents ( + titles ) , if you don't you will get negative impact from google.
 
I would redo the tutorial and do no duplicate showing content.

your just heading for millions of duplicate questions.

Nah Duplicate Content is Not Okay As Per you may hire an Content Writer for unique Plagiarism free Content ( Seo Based Content ) . I Have One Trick Which i use many time for generating unique articles like i spin the articles and then send them to spintax generator and get an highly seo based Content which cannot be seen by google !

Duplicate content will almost always be looked at in a negative light from Google

Most of the time it's going to be robots and automated services tracking the duplicated content.. so you'll always want to be as safe as possible

You should probably redesign your site structure.

The URLs for the lessons which go into more than 1 course should be reused. Same URL in multiple courses. Then you avoid any duplicate content concerns.
