I’ve heard mixed opinions about dropshipping this year. Is it still a viable model for making money, or should I be focusing on other e-commerce strategies like private labeling or print on demand?

Whenever I hear these types of questions it´s like people basically asking if e-commerce is still profitable in 2024
It greatly depends on the person you end up asking that question to.
I´ve been on this community for almost 8 years now and these are the same questions I´ve heard every single year since I joined.
@Graphica_Crew you can literally ask the same question about virtually every area of online marketing or ways to make money online.

It's far from dead.
I will say though that most of the methods people get taught from shady gurus are usually shite. Stuff such as setting up a Shopify store, tiktok organic videos, reposting YouTube content etc.
Most of those types of gurus teach nothing about actual business KPIs like ACV, funnels, upsells, downsells, email follow up etc.
From my albeit limited experience with drop shipping I found it's also a low profit venture so good luck with running ads, especially if the ACV is low.
Use drop shipping as a way to validate a product.
Honestly though the front end product should just get people to say Yes. The money is in the backend. I.e a monthly subscription

Dropshipping can still be profitable in 2024, but competition is tough. Focus on niche markets, branding, and good customer service to stand out. Private labeling or print on demand might offer better control and higher margins, depending on your goals. Choose what fits your strengths and resources

Yes, Dropshipping is dead. Brandshipping is now the new thing everybody is talking about.
dropshipping is just a method of product delivering the difference with traditional ecommerce its just determined if you hold stock or not. Thus yeah, there is lot of people and we have lot of customers living because of their online dropshipping stores, it ahs changed a lot since some years ago, if its that what you are wanting to say. But yeah, if you treat itself as a serious business, with good product, offer, customer support and a branded site looking for long term, then obviously you will get success with dropshipping.

I always laugh when people say dropshipping is dead. It's only dead to those that can't make money from.it.
Any method just takes skills, persistence and the guts to get back on a horse when you get knocked down.

no its not. and if anyone tells you it is then they have no clue. Amazon is full of dropshippers. Find an evergreen niche and make your product stand out and you'll be fine

Dropshipping never was good. If you want quick money tons of better fairytale methods you can learn.
If you want to create a real brand, invest tons of money and put a few years into it then yes you can create a brand.

If you keep scrolling on tiktok for 30mins you may see many dropshipping products then how this can be dead? For my personal experience need to think of a product that solves a problem.

And I think dropshipping should be a transitional period where you test a niche, and once you've chosen a niche, studied all the problems and fixed them, you start selling your brand. Then you will be consistently profitable. It's like selling links, you can buy them from other linkbuilders and sell them, but you won't build a customer base that way.
