Is drop shipping worth it?

I read a long time ago that drop shipping wasn't worth it because you lack buying power. Buying power is what allows you to lower individual unit prices and with drop shipping you have zero buying power outside of the drop shipper who adds whatever additional cost they want onto everything.

I know that wholesale can be extremely profitable but it's primarily because of buying power like I said. So is anyone actually making decent profits off drop shipping and not wholesale?

listen, a couple years ago i was in the business of dropshipping and honestly i was doing good. the secret here is to find a good drop shipper so you can negotiate with them about giving you the power to lower the prices, if you sell certain amount of money in certain amount of time most of the time they will help you and they will do what you want.

Its like anything else. If you can market the stuff better then the 1000's of other people out there that are drop shipping from the same place you can make some $$. It's how I make my full time living currently so its doable just a little harder right now with the crappy economy.

Dropshipping is definitively good when you know how to use it right. I am in the niche of mobile phone and used a dropshipper for about 2 or 3 yrs until I found out a way to get better price for the phones than the dropshipper itself and now I have a few resellers that I dropship for.

People will always expected the best of the best... in any situation any given time... they will find bugs in a windows and then move to a mac and will still find bugs...Problems can occur with dropshipping of course but it is up to you to manage it.. yes sometimes there is problem with the flight and there will b a delay or shipping companies lose your items...but hey..its part of life, nothing is perfect and shit happens.

Always deal with a dropshipper who is willing to work with you and make money with you...Not the one that dont care about you and care only about money...

Try to find a dropshipper than you will be at ease with and that will be committed to your business as you do. Those suppliers tend to give an extra mile for a better service for exemple customizing your package, send promotional flyers to your customer, insert your business cards when sending the items etc. Those are little details that will make your company successful..

And yes dropshipping is overrated, nowdays any average Joe will think they can do it and will spend money on their website, products, ebay store etc, but will not succeed... And then they will ask themselves why this didnt work...

The illusion of quick and easy money will always trap the weakest mind...
