Hi I am just checked some high pr directories But when I checked their pr it shows n/a. So How to start seo without directory. I am newbie please help.

No, it's not dead. But hand pick your directories. I'd try to target ones that are contextually relevant to your niche.

Not dead, still very common and effective when you're doing local SEO. Just look for quality and don't build anchor text links with directories

Start with related blog commenting and forum posting, you are on the right way.

It very much works. Just like any other type of links, look for high PR domains, do fo**ow link, anchor text diversification.

Directories are good for local SEO. Worthless for regular SEO unless you get in DMOZ, which is unlikely/impossible

It still works but not as effective however it will help as part of the overall seo campaign.

its a very important part, You should have link building diversity, You should start scraping Urls if you are finding any.
Recommend scrapebox :)

I do get lot of authority from directory submission

you can start with web2 property link building. Then social bookmarking, forum posting, blog commenting etc.
